The textbook provides a history of the emergence of physical rehabilitation in the world and in Ukraine, sets out modem views on physical rehabilitation, presents, likewise, information as to the basic means of physical rehabilitation, highlights the purpose, tasks and timing of their application. Based on clinical and physiological positions, the necessity of using physical therapy, therapeutic massage, physiotherapy, mechano-therapy, occupational therapy in hospital and post-hospital period of rehabilitation in the physical rehabilitation of patients. In accordance with the requirements of the WHO, there is a sequence and methodology for the use of physical rehabilitation facilities. Indications and contraindications regarding the use of physical rehabilitation facilities are provided. The material outlined in the textbook creates a complete picture of the use of physical rehabilitation in the complex treatment of patients. This educational and methodical manual is designed for students of higher educational institutions of education and science of Ukraine of III-IV level of accreditation in which the subject "Physical rehabilitation" is taught, teachers and specialists on medical physical training, sports medicine and physical rehabilitation.
